Save the tooth whenever possible.
When the pulp inside a tooth becomes infected or inflamed, a root canal removes the damaged tissue, cleans and shapes the roots, and seals the space. The visit usually takes about two hours or less, and most patients report feeling no pain from the procedure. Afterward you may have some sensitivity, and a permanent crown often follows within a few weeks to protect the tooth.
If a tooth cannot be saved, we talk through every option, from doing nothing to a bridge or an implant, with the pros and cons of each. For toothaches, swelling, chips, or injuries, call (970) 514-0662 and we will tell you what to do next. Your dentist will also give you specific aftercare instructions after any procedure.
